ENTRY: 11/10/08 As Most of you know, who have been with us over the decades, Family is Everything to the Fitzgerald's, as it is with you all! Many of you know about the different struggles our family has been facing, concerning Dan's Mom - my 84 Year Old Widowed Grandma and last Grandparent remaining. I have sent an update to our many Tens of Thousand of extended family members, E-Mail Subscribers, Close Friends, Fitzgerald Family of Fans, Endorsed Sponsors, Archery Industry Friends, etc. In addition, I wanted to let the Hundreds of Thousands of www.teamfitzgerald.com visitors know of an URGENT matter: This message is being given to you, not as Fellow Hunters & Outdoor persons, but as Extended Fitzgerald Family. While filming a few days ago - doing what we do - we received a phone call from the hospital. Grandma couldn't breathe or see clearly, she called 911, and was rushed in an Ambulance to Emergency. She had a MAJOR clogged artery in her heart (she is recovering from a 5-Bypass Heart Attack/Surgery), and blocked vessels in her neck and head! When she arrived at the Hospital, they told us her Blood Pressure was approximately 240/130!! She was placed into the critical condition/ICU Unit for about 48 hours, with a large series of tests that had to be done, with hopes of her not having a Major Stroke! The next day after her arrival, the doctors deemed it as another Heart Attack. She also has Hypertension, a Deteriorated Ear Drum, and her strength is nearly diminished. She is still in the Hospital, will soon be released into a Primary Care Facility, where she will remain for a while (the time is unknown). She is not making much improvement, and things are not looking too promising. I dearly Love my Grandma! Grandma means Everything to Dan. He is her only Son, and has been her Primary Caretaker, for about the last 10 years! ODDLY ENOUGH, DAN'S DAD WAS NOT THE PERSON WHO INSPIRED HIM TO FALL IN LOVE WITH GOD'S CREATION AND BOWHUNTING. IT WAS GRANDMA WHO TAUGHT DAD TO HUNT & ALL ABOUT THE WOODS, PLANTS, TREES, ETC! SHE WAS AN ARKANSAS FARM GIRL WHO LITERALLY HUNTED WITH HER BROTHERS AND SISTERS TO PUT FOOD ON THE TABLE, BACK IN THE 30'S & 40'S, WHEN THAT WAS THE ONLY REASON FOLKS HUNTED!!! GRANDMA CAN TELL YOU EVERY PLANT AND TREE IN THE WOODS BY MEMORY!!! SHE IS AMAZING!!! Dan is Very Exhausted, Emotionally, as this last few days he has been at her side 18 hours per day and has not gotten any sleep in about 4 days, while in the meantime, I have been filming and "holding the fort", without my main hunting buddy! What we request from you great and wonderful folks, is to please pray for our whole family, but especially "Big Dan" and "Grandma". I know it will mean a LOT to him to hear from you guys, as the Fitzgerald Family of Fans are everything to us, outside of our own Families!!! We'll keep you guys and gals posted! ENTRY: 11/5/08 I'm going to take a little break from talking about hunting and the outdoors to speak to the Election and Country Issues - as many of you have been doing. Well, the election's over. It's been quite a campaign, hasn't it!? Many saw who they wanted to win, while many did not. I will not disclose who Dan, I, and the rest of the family at Team Fitzgerald voted for (as I don't want to start a range war!), but I will say WE DID PROUDLY VOTE!!! We are only as Free as our Rights to Vote and voice our opinions and feelings about things that concern us, or make us happy, for that matter! I am happy to see that our nation had such a large turnout to vote! These are, indeed, trying times, but if you think about it, we have had some type of trying time, in some area (not always the economy), in just about every decade (I don't talk about it much, but I did pay a little attention in High School and College, when I wasn't hunting or fishing). We can't forget that history does have a tendency to repeat itself, and once we stabilize, we will most likely have some type of turmoil again, somewhere along the line. That's just the way it has been for thousands of years, preceding our nations inception! The Most Important Thing Is That We Unite, As Fellow Brothers & Sisters, under God! It's important to also realize that, as many of you know, the country's ups and downs are not as much one single persons fault, or job to fix, for that matter, on his or her own. Legislative, Judicial, AND Executive Branches, along with ALL other governing officials AND the American People, are all in this boat together. We rise and fall and get back up again - TOGETHER! That's why Voting is so important, because it's OUR time to say what we want to and feel! We understand that there are Millions of you (believe it or not, we have MILLIONS of Visitors checking out this Website) who wish to express your opinions and thoughts, concerning what happened on "Election Tuesday '08". ENTRY: 8/15/07 Hey guys! We just came off of an amazing three weekend run on our "Passing Through Tour"! We were in VA, NM, and GA! What a time we had fellowshipping with fellow hunt crazy dudes and dudettes! Now, we’re heading to the Mathews Invitational, where we are scheduled for Photo Shoots, TV Commercial Filming, etc. I expect it’s going to be a blast! Big D is sitting over here, just being Dan, you know being hungry!!! Talking about hunting this fall is getting my blood boiling! Looking forward to hanging out with our fellow hunting celeb friends and all of the great owners/employees of Mathews, Inc.
